The Father/Daughter Relationship- A Bond of a Lifetime

Fathers play an irreplaceable role in the life of their daughters. He is her guide, her role model, her teacher, her first love and her cover.  The impact fathers make on their daughters development is life-long playing out in every aspect of their lives over the life-cycle. His relationship with her will predict rather she will develop a healthy self-image, healthy self-esteem, learn how to voice her opinion respectfully and not become a doormat nor a tyrant, how to listen and be heard, and how to love fully and receive true love in return.

While fathering for some may men not be come easy, the skills can be learned if the desire to learn is present. We will share tips on how fathers can connect, reconnect and remain connected to their daughter(s) to support her healthy psychosocial development over the life cycle. Karen Davis-Johnson

This great video demonstrates the power of a father's role as the cover over his
daughter. On her wedding day, this bride thanks her father for his covering. In her discourse she recounts when she was 13 years old that her daddy gave her a promise ring and through his actions said to her, "...Until the right man comes... along, you never have to search for another love, you never have to look for someone else because I'm here and I'll always be here. My love for you is a reflection of how much the Creator loves you." Johnson & Johnson welcomes your thoughts and comments. Click her to view video:  Dad's Promise
